Lizards vs Slavs — Arena
A hardcore first-person arena action game for Steam with an absurdist premise and honest difficulty.

The task
We needed to ship an indie game in an overcrowded genre — souls-like / hack-and-slash — in a way that stood out not just through difficulty, but stayed memorable, without collapsing into a repetitive wave-grind where the only variable is enemy count.
The solution
We built a single-player first-person arena action game with an absurdist premise: a captured Slav fights on an arena of lizardmen and mechanical pods. Eight waves of rising difficulty, six combat skills and permadeath — each phase is built differently rather than simply adding more enemies to the previous one.
The result
- Released on Steam on April 30, 2024 under the Souls-like, Spectacle Fighter, and Hack and Slash tags
- The comedic take on the premise became a point of differentiation in a genre that's usually played dead serious
- Permadeath and each phase's uniqueness keep replayability high without artificial padding
